An illegal marijuana grow containing more than 700 plants was found inside a house on the north edge of Lake Elsinore, authorities said Friday, July 3.

Riverside County sheriff’s deputies raided the property in the 4000 block of Ladrillo Street, near Lake Street, about 5 p.m. Thursday, according to Sgt. Glenn Warrington.

He said an investigation focused on the residence was initiated in recent weeks after deputies received complaints from neighbors about possible illicit activity.

Drug raids have been conducted in the Lake Elsinore area since early April, resulting in numerous illegal grows being dismantled. The one on Ladrillo was in an area known as Alberhill Ranch.

Warrington said that during the search warrant service at the property, deputies confiscated 750 cannabis plants in various stages of growth.

“City Code Enforcement officers and Southern California Edison technicians responded to the residence, and it was deemed uninhabitable due to various building code violations,” the sergeant said.

No suspects have been identified in connection with the grow.

Neither the city nor Riverside County have authorized indoor or outdoor commercial marijuana cultivation of any kind.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s Lake Elsinore station at 951-245-3300.
