Regina cannabis company has its sights set on growth

It may be smaller scale, but VLC’s intended result is a premium product that will be sought after by experienced cannabis users. The company is aiming to produce plants that can be used at the medicinal level, but also enjoyed by recreational users.

VLC’s growing operation is tucked away in an unmarked warehouse in an industrial area of the city. Inside are 22 high-tech grow pods designed by a company called Delta 9 Cannabis. Delta 9 has also agreed to buy VLC’s cannabis and sell it through its distribution network, as well as its own branded retail stores.

The pods are 40-foot long retrofitted shipping containers. The reason the cannabis is grown in separate pods is because if there’s a problem in one pod, it’s at least isolated there.
