BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department announced an arrest in connection to what they called an “extensive investigation” into narcotics.

On April 16, 2020, officers from the Narcotic’s Division, along with K9 officers, discovered 482 pounds of marijuana, 7,659 grams of liquid THC, 173 THC edible candy packs and $9 thousand in cash.
Ryan Hammer, 39, of Palmdale, Cali., was arrested at 4005 4th Avenue South. Hammer is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, trafficking marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hammer was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on April 17, posted $260,300 in bonds and was released on April 19.
