Naperville Zoning Commission to discuss medical marijuana guidelines, reversing recreational marijuana sales ban

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) — The city of Naperville is reconsidering whether or not to allow the sale of recreational marijuana.

The city’s Zoning Commission held a meeting and workshop to discuss adult-use cannabis sales, with the public able to watch and participate online.

City officials had issued a survey to go over the steps to allowing recreational marijuana sales, and are looking for input on where residents think such businesses should be allowed, parking requirements, business caps and other details.

The meeting was held at 7 p.m.

Naperville initially banned recreational marijuana sales before it became legal on January 1. The city said it would put the idea up as a ballot initiative to gauge whether residents wanted it or not.
