A second search of a licensed medical cannabis facility in Langley found more illegal cannabis being grown and packaged for distribution.
On Tuesday, Langley RCMP announced a raid was conducted Dec. 2 on a rural property in Langley. The property had previously been searched and was being investigated for illegal cannabis and alleged distribution.
The facility possessed five medical licences to produce cannabis but was found with 3,230 plants more than what they were licensed to grow, along with 300 pounds of packaged cannabis ready for distribution.
“Organized crime continues to try and shelter their illicit cannabis production through the exploitation of medical marijuana licences,” said RCMP Supt. Richard Bergevin. “We will continue to make every effort to combat the illicit production of drugs, even when veiled under the guise of a medical licence.”
No arrests have been made and charges are expected once the investigation concludes.
