Insurrection at the Capitol | The Complete Finger-Pointing Blame Pie

In one of the darkest days in American history, fantasy-filled “revolutionaries” stormed the U.S. Capitol yesterday. Conspiracy theorists, extremists, white supremacists converged on the People’s House at the same time congressional officials were counting the Electoral College votes to certify Joe Biden as the next President of the United States. There are plenty of co-conspirators to blame for the insurrection at the Capitol yesterday. A lot of finger-pointing. And in case you’re wondering, I’m about to do some more.

Now is not the time to take the high road. Now is the time to NAME AND SHAME these treasonous cowards and complicit individuals.

I’ve been enraged since yesterday and my eyeballs have stayed glued to the TV and social media for the latest. My emotions ranged from sadness, anger, and embarrassment for our country. Like the majority of normal Americans, I am repulsed by the incitement of the riot by Trump, Giuliani, and Donny Jr. However, those clowns only served as a match to the powder keg that has been packed over the last 4 years. I’m out for vengeance on those that packed the powder keg to the brim, not just yesterday, but for the past 4 years. Let’s go.

1. Donald J. Trump & Cronies – 50%

When you’re at the top of the food chain you get to accept a lot of credit for the hard work of others. Conversely, you also are accountable for the failures on your watch.

Of course President Donald J. Trump doesn’t accept the second part of that equation. The self-serving narcissist is most to blame for the “Big Lie” that led to yesterday’s event. The “Big Lie” of course is the that the election was stolen from him despite no evidence to support the claim.

However, one man can cause damage to the oldest democracy on Earth. This level of fascism can only be facilitated by a gang of enablers and cronies. These individuals are an extension of Trump. They echo his pathological lies and excuse his misconduct any time they are in front of a microphone.

These weak individuals might not believe Trump is right, but they hope to catch the spoils of his authoritarian dreams. Like the mob bosses that Trump collaborated with during the 1980’s real estate game, he makes a mess and lets his henchmen clean it up. Rudy Giuliani, Donny Junior, Eric Trump, Mark Meadows, Jared Kushner, Ivanka, Kayleigh McEnany are just a few of the individuals who lack the integrity to do anything outside of their self-interest.

When I say cronies, I’m not including any congressional Republicans. Anyone who thinks Trump acts in the interest of anyone else, including Republicans, is how do I say it…FUCKING TRIPPIN’.

This crew of gangsters gets the largest chunk of my blame pie at 40%, but I’m thinking they might need a whole pie for themselves.

2. The Insurrectionists and MAGA Supporters – 20%

Look, at some point a human needs to grow up and be accountable for one’s actions. These MAGA supporters and terrorists who attacked the Capitol are no different. They should be prosecuted for their crimes and treason.

So many people have forgotten the basics of human interaction, dialogue, and debate. Perhaps it’s a function of social media, but at some point be an adult.

It’s time for people to realize there are consequences from lies. Consequences from actions. These were radicalized terrorists. Essentially cult members no different than Heaven’s Gate. And sadly 5 people are dead as the consequences of their ignorance.

These clowns have already started spinning conspiracies that the riots were caused by ANTIFA. Shut up.

3. The Republican Party and Congressional Seditionists – 10%

Reyrey did a great job breaking down the failings of the Republican Party and why they are to blame for this mess. There’s not much more to say about these politicians who sold their souls and are now desperately trying to get it back. Frankly, it’s pathetic.

The GOP has a some real work to do if they ever intend to win another presidency.

The congressional insurrectionists on the other hand should have their names live in infamy. Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley have spent weeks parroting Trump’s lies about the election. Riling up supporters that January 6 was going to be the day they take back the country from the radical left. They have blood on their hands.

To the astonishment of many, these clowns continued to object to the election results without evidence EVEN AFTER THE SEDITION ATTEMPT! Remember their names. NAME AND SHAME roll call:

4. Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey – 10%

Curve ball! I bet you thought I might go with more Trump allies.

Instead, America needs to place blame on the free reign data hoarders known as Facebook and Twitter. Spoiler alert: I use both. Doesn’t mean I feel good about it.

As of January 7, 2021 the combined market value of Facebook and Twitter is about $800 billion dollars. Most of that is Facebook at $750 billion alone. Both of these companies have more than double in value since Trump took office.

Both of these companies primary source of revenue is advertising. They have complex algorithms to target the specific audience demographic for any advertiser. News outlets like InfoWars, OANN, and NewsMax don’t just get popular on their own. They purchase millions of dollars in social media advertising and specifically target individuals who will like their content.

This is compounded by fake sites and pages, hate groups sharing racists memes, and your drunk uncle in Tennessee who still hasn’t found an Obama meme not worth sharing. The short of it is, both these companies create echo chambers for their users by providing them with content they are expected to like. This is particularly dangerous if the information being shared in the echo chamber is false.

Fake news warning labels are the equivalent of holding up a stop sign to person in a car wreck. They are merely a token action to escape culpability for their profiteering off of the lies of the President.

Every time Trump Tweets, it’s an advertisement for Twitter. Same for his Facebook posts. Millions of users have flocked these platforms because of this. Their shareholders loved every minute of this fiasco. Fuck em both.

The rise of trash news outlets like NewsMax and OANN in the Trump era has been an interesting side effect. These YouTube channel wannabes are not interested in telling the truth. It’s not journalism. It’s purely a propaganda machine for the far-right.

But these networks are just the neo-fascist housing structure being built on the foundations laid by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, and Alex Jones. Total trash and the ball washers of power.

6. Democrats – 1%

Yesterday was a dark day for America and it’s probably a good time for all of us to look in the mirror and decide what kind of country we want. Even Democrats should spend some time thinking about how we all got here.

Maybe Democrats should listen more. There are a lot of people hurting in this country from COVID and poverty. They don’t care about politics. They are just trying to eat.

Even if yesterday was your big “I told you so!” moment, Democrats need to do more than pointing out flaws in others. We need unity and tthe democratic party needs to make every effort to make that happen.
