Biden didn’t waste any time when he became the 46th president of the United States. Hours after his inauguration, he signed in 17 executive orders which aim to reverse damages done by the Trump administration.
This is a huge turning point for Democrats everywhere, and many anxiously await their outcomes.

Just as our new president didn’t waste time, neither will I, so here are some quick tidbits from Biden’s big plans:
New COVID Ordinances, Challenges And WHO Memberships
Biden is looking to take a more aggressive approach to the pandemic compared to our former president. Instead of keeping information from our nation’s citizens for months, Biden will be swiftly and quickly implementing new coronavirus precautions and ordinances.

He’s also trying to start a new trend for Americans, a “100-day mask challenge.” While this isn’t enforced, he is requiring that all federal employees wear masks and socially distance.
Lastly, Biden is reinstating America’s relationship with the World Health Organization, which was previously dismantled by the Trump administration.
DACA, Deportations, The Muslim Ban And More
It’s hard to forget how much Trump hated DACA and Dreamers. Well, the former president’s hatred and bigotry may finally be in our past as Biden has moved to bolster DACA and create a path for Dreamers to gain citizenship.
Additionally, Biden has moved to include noncitizens from the consensus count. This was previously opposed by Trump.
Along with Biden’s changes, he has moved to stop aggressive deportation efforts, including those against Liberians living in the U.S.
He is also moving to dismantle the so-called Muslim ban which was set in place by the Trump administration, and he aims to halt the construction of the border wall alongside Mexico.
The Paris Agreement, The Keystone Pipeline And More
It’s a breath of fresh air knowing that our new president believes in climate change. Even better, he’s agreed to re-enter the Paris Agreement. Now that America will once again work alongside nearly 200 countries, we can finally help create a healthier environment.
In addition to this, Biden began the process to reverse multiple environmental policies (or lack thereof) implemented by the Trump administration, including:
- Biden will halt the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and revoking its permit.
- Will reverse rollbacks on vehicle emission standards.
- Aims to prevent the decision to decrease the size of several national monuments.
- Enforcing a temporary moratorium on oil and natural gas leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
- He’s re-establishing a working group on the social costs of greenhouse gasses.
Critical Race Theory And Title VII
For four long years, we’ve had to put up with the Trump administration’s backward ass views on race and discrimination. Moments after his inauguration, Biden began working to erase Trump’s racist legacy, including:
- He will end Trump’s 1776 Commission which distorted and misconstrued the role of slavery in the U.S.
- Biden reinstated critical race theory and training in federal agencies that aim to promote diversity and inclusion.
- He ordered federal agencies to report their equity ranks within the next 200 days, and create a plan for breaking policy barriers for a more inclusive environment.
- Reinforced Title VII of the Civil Rights Act which states that the government cannot discriminate against anyone based on their gender identity or sexual orientation.
Evictions And Student Loans During The Pandemic
As more and more Americans fight against being evicted during the pandemic, Biden has agreed to extend the federal moratorium on evictions until the end of March. Finally, a sigh of relief from Americans all over the nation.
Additionally, he’s agreed to pause federal student loan interest throughout the end of September.
Ethics In Government And Midnight Regulations
I think we can all agree that it’s been a bit difficult to trust our government in recent years. Especially after the way that they handled BLM movements and the domestic terrorist attack on the Capitol.
So, Biden moves to establish ethics rules “to restore and maintain trust in our governments” once more. He made all of his appointees sign an ethics pledge. Hopefully, this pledge will bring more action than the D.A.R.E. pledges we all had to sign in elementary school.
Additionally, Biden is freezing all new regulations put in motion by Trump. He aims to stop midnight regulations from passing from a sitting duck president, and it’s pretty sweet to see someone finally try to put a stop to Trump’s b.s.
What Does This Mean For Our Nation?
While Biden may not be perfect, he’s far from the Oompa Loompa shit show we’ve witnessed in recent years.
Hopefully, his regulations will do some good for our country and move us a few steps closer to dismantling the Trump administration’s bigotry.
