Colorado is one of the most beautiful states in the U.S. From their red-rock buttes to their glistening snowy mountains, there is truly an adventure for every level of hiking enthusiast.
And if you smoke, you’ll have an even grander time. The combination of crisp mountain air, and lack of legal repercussions, really lets you enjoy your cannabis- hiking experiences. Truly, it’s a different world out there.

So, next time you’re out and about in the beautiful Centennial State, be sure to toke and explore some of these remarkable landscapes. Surely, you won’t run out of places to explore and cannabis to smoke during this vacay.
Garden Of The Gods
This location is ideal if you want to explore over 21 miles of hiking trails with towering, red-rock buttes. These mammoth buttes will surely make you feel like a feature in “It’s a Small World,” and you’ll never want to stop exploring.

Not only will you find incredible sceneries at the Garden of the Gods, but you may even get to hear some live music while strolling along its red clay-stained paths. When I visited recently, there was a man playing classical music on his violin while we strolled past the North Gateway Rock.
It was truly amazing, and we even got to smoke our vape pens while walking on the paths. Of course, everyone was masked up and we only smoked when there weren’t children or others around.
Anyways, I highly recommend this hiking spot if you’re looking for easy-moderate trails. Additionally, it’s a great place to watch the sunset cascade over colossal, red-rock buttes while smoking a bowl or pen. You’ll probably want to avoid using anything too heavy to smoke with, such as a bong or blunt, as certain areas can get crowded with people and small children.
And if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, they offer rock climbing tours that you can smoke before and after.
Conundrum Creek Trail
If you’ve ever wanted to combine hardcore hiking and hot springs, this moderate-difficult trail will catch your eye.
Situated at the top of a valley, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of luscious trees and flowers alongside trickling creeks. The winter months are just as beautiful as the glistening snow cascades over the Conundrum Creek Trail.
Even though this trail can be accomplished in one day, it’s recommended that you camp overnight to avoid hiking a 17-mile round-trip. While the journey is mostly uphill heading towards the hot springs, thankfully this means you can enjoy a more leisurely hike home. Just be aware of its altitude range, which goes from 8,700 feet to 11,200 feet.
Again, I’d recommend smoking bowls or pens on this trail. Mostly due to my prediction that you’ll also want to smoke in the hot springs, and a freshly rolled joint probably won’t stand a chance.
Grizzly Peaks At Loveland Pass
If you consider yourself a hardcore hiking enthusiast, I’d recommend the Grizzly Peaks at Loveland Pass trails. This 6-mile round-trip hike will provide you with some incredible views of multiple ski resorts, such as Arapahoe Basin, Keystone and Breckenridge.
However, be aware of its intense altitude change, which begins at 11,990 feet and gains 2900′ elevation. There’s a reason this hike is for those who are more experienced.
Nonetheless, if you get the chance, you should definitely check out this hike during the winter months so you can watch skiers do their thing alongside the grand, glistening mountains. It may even inspire you to hit the slopes, too.
If you really want to give yourself a challenge, smoke a blunt while climbing this trail during sunrise. The views and the legal weed will knock you on your ass. However, I’d suggest going for a Sativa strain that has a lower level of THC, such as this Blueberry Headband kush, so you don’t completely wipe-out.

The Bottom Line
No matter which season you choose to visit Colorado, there is always a great hiking spot available in this Centennial State. You’ll definitely need to choose which smoking method to use while on different hikes, as some may be more crowded than others.
